{"id":2924,"date":"2017-12-12T10:20:23","date_gmt":"2017-12-12T09:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sietarnl.fixed-staging.co.uk\/?p=2924"},"modified":"2017-12-12T10:20:23","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T09:20:23","slug":"wanted-management-and-operations-team-mot-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sietarnl.fixed-staging.co.uk\/?p=2924","title":{"rendered":"Wanted: Management and Operations Team (MOT) Leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the new structure of SIETAR Europa, The SIETAR Europa Board and Executive Officers are looking for a Management and Operations Team (MOT) Leader to work with us on a voluntary basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The role of the MOT is:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>While the SIETAR Europa Board prepares the annual strategic plan, the role of the MOT is to implement that plan.<\/li>\n<li>The work of the MOT is supervised by the Board. The Vice President is the contact person for the MOT.<\/li>\n<li>The Treasurer is the contact person for financial issues. He\/She has to sign off on financial issues.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0The Office Manager is part of the MOT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Head\/ Leader of the MOT (Day-to-day Manager)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Puts together the management and operations team (MOT)<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leads the MOT and its operations<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Implements the strategic plan of SEU<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ensures that strategic objectives and plans are met<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Liaises with board and participates in, and contributes to board strategy meetings<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shares information on a regular basis with the Board<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Collaborates with and reports to the Vice President of SEU<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Liaises with committee heads and supports the work of the committees<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Is informed about the status quo and the activities of national SIETAR organisations under the umbrella of SEU<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills\/Competencies: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 At least 7 years managing a team, project(s), company or business<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Affinity with the domain of intercultural education, training and research<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Intercultural sensitivity and experience of multi-cultural teams<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Strong planning and organisation skills<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sense for innovation<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ability to work virtually and with a multi-cultural team<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Very good English language skills (written, spoken)<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Good IT skills<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ability to organise self and others<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Good project management and time management skills<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Able to multi-task<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Able to set up, structure data and manage processes<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent communication skills<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bring diverse experience to SEU organisation<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Team leadership skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Benefits of this Role with SIETAR Europa:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Experience of working in an international organisation<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Working in a multicultural and virtual setting\/team<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Contribute to the development of an international multi-cultural organisation<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Free access to SIETAR events in Europe<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Honorary member of SIETAR Europa for time in this position<\/li>\n<li>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On completion of term, a testimonial from SIETAR Europa\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Position:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a <strong><em>voluntary position<\/em><\/strong>, it is estimated that it would <strong><em>require 20-30 hours per week<\/em><\/strong>. The timeframe for this voluntary position is recommended for a <strong><em>minimum period of<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>2 years<\/em><\/strong>. As it is a voluntary position, the candidate can leave at any time, however it is preferable to collaborate in this capacity for a minimum of 2 years with the possibility of extension<\/p>\n<p>Ideally, we are looking for candidates with a <strong><em>track record in managing a team, project or small company<\/em><\/strong>. Once the Head of the MOT is selected, that person will help put together the team. The team will be a group of individuals who will work with SIETAR Europa on a voluntary basis as interns.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please note, this is a <strong><em>virtual position.<\/em><\/strong> The candidate will manage a virtual team, all meetings and communications with the team and the SIETAR Europa Board will generally be held in a virtual space using zoom and skype platforms.
